First, let's say Jordan Clarkson signs back you do Julius Randle, JC for Winslow, Gerald Green, and Stoudimire. Then you do Nick Young and Brandon Bass for Cameron Payne and Dion Waiters but the next season don't go for waiters. Next you do D'Angelo And Lou Williams for Greg Monroe, if we don't get Whiteside. Then bring up d leaguers. Plus draft Ingram and Newman

Why would the Lakers give up Randle & Clarkson for Winslow, Green and Stoudemire? Winslow isn't as good as either of those players and Stoudemire is a FA. Here is the thing ok we watch Russell, Clarkson, & Randle grow this year. So we have a season invested into 2 and a couple season invested in Clarkson. Why would we give up growth for players that wouldn't perform at the level to make the playoffs? Lakers would be going backwards with these trades.

OKC Drafted Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka and Reggie Jackson.
Golden State Drafted Curry, Thompson, Green, Barnes, Ezeli.
It looks like teams that keep their young core = success.

In a few seasons I expect Laker fans to be proud that
Lakers Drafted: Russell, Clarkson, Randle, Nance, Ingram or Simmons, Anthony Brown, undrafted)Upshaw and in this offseason Lakers could add Whiteside (26) and Demar Derozan(26) to the young core.

Pjwr- the thunder traded harden and that was best for the team. Plus the lakers get another rookie in Cameron Payne. But we will probably end up contenders with this lineup. I see why you say that though that's a good idea
