It can't happen. Lakers must make the 2017 pick selection as of now because they have already traded 2018 to the Magic. Can't trade consecutive first rounders without drafting. Plus the Sixers wouldn't do that. They traded MWC alway just to get that pick from Phoenix.

They traded MCW because he was doing good and keeping them from tanking as well as they hoped. And I doubt they would agree to that trade. Losing Kobe will, as much as it hurts to say, make us better. Let us go the fast pace we need with our 3 young studs. In regards to Durant the Lakers aren't a big fa destination anymore. At all.

I guess this year L. A. would stay safe
We have flexible salary cap.
We have 4 young guys to develop with Walton.
Next year or in 2 years I would like to see how much we have developed and then.
lure free agents, sign them and became a contender.
If we haven't developed so much and free agents will not sign. start rebuilding with trades (russell, ingram, randle and clarckson included)
For me this is now and for the future the best solution.

The most important trade:
Fire Byron Scott and hire a new coach who is able to develop young lakers talents (clarkson, russell, randle and the next first top 3 round pick)
Sign young free agents like Derozan or Whiteside or someone else
Not a championship team but good for the future
