Lakers are unintentionally tanking, or in other words, they just suck. They can fix their team now or in the summer. If they were to do it now:

trade#1
Lakers-Timberwolves
Lakers Receive:
-Ronny Turiaf
-Chase Budinger

Wolves Receive:
-Jeremy Lin

(note): The Wolves are rumored to want to part with Budinger due to their crowdedness at the SF position (Wiggins, Brewer, Bennett, Shabazz are all capable of playing SF) and they have 2 more than capable centers (Pek, Dieng). Chase and Turiaf are basically "extras" to the Wolves young/talented cast. Jeremy Lin is a way better backup than Mo Williams and he can definitely fulfill the position if Rubio gets injured.

Lakers Receive:
-Ryan Anderson
-Jimmer Fredette

Pelicans
-Jordan Hill
-(if people think the Lakers aren't giving enough, add 1st round pick via Rockets if you want, I think this is fair because the Pelicans are rumored to be considering shopping around Anderson, Hill is a great replacement. High energy "garbage man" who can knock down a mid range and rebound like crazy. You can start or bench him and he still gives 110%)

injured players out for season: Nash, Randle

This roster stands at 14 active, Lakers are allowed to have a 16 man roster if granted by NBA with a certain amount of players inactive which would be Nash, Randle.

*Clarkson should get the start, help improve backcourt defense, not scared to drive to the rim, decent ball handling skills, good size at 6'5 to make it harder for other PGs, and ball will be in Kobes hand most of the time anyways. i'm pretty sure starting him (rather than keeping Lin) is no different from Lin, if anything he's better
*Budinger, Anderson add consistent 3 point shooting and scoring to take load off Kobe. Budinger > Johnson
*Davis as a starter adds defense when Kobe gets beat off the dribble, which he will
*Nick Young can lead bench in scoring or bring in Fredette instead of Price for even more scoring

Best thing is that Lakers and other teams involved all get to keep cap flexibility for next summer

1.) Seriously don't expect LA to have a championship team with KObe anymore. They will take 2 years, draf assets to trade, get big contract out and rebuild. This is what they will sell to their target. next year you play with Kobe and then we build on you: Love, Rondo, Marc Gasol, and a perimeter threat like Gay, Evans,
