2015-2016 Lakers Roster Projection 2.0

Draft:
-Stanley Johnson (via 4th or 5th pick)
-Willie Cauley Stein (via trade of pick from hou, 2nd rounder and Robert Sacre)

Starters

PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Kris Middleton
PF: Ed Davis
C: Willie Cauley Stein

Bench/Role Players

PG: Jordan Clarkson
SG: Nick Young
SF: Stanley Johnson
PF: Julius Randle
C: Tarik Black

Reserves

PG: Ronnie Price
SG: Wayne Ellington
SF: Veteran SF, a locker room guy
PF: Ryan Kelly
C: 2nd round pick

Rondo - gives the team an excellent playmaker and a championship caliber player. Player Locked

Bryant - No Arguments :)

Middleton - gives the team another scoring option, and will likely improve the squads' 3point performance next season. can rebound, pass the ball and a decent defender.

Davis - Athletic, Quick, Smart, Defensive and a hustle guy and still improving

WCS - Good size, Athletic, Quick, Can guard multiple positions, and runs the floor very well. The next Tyson Chandler?

Clarkson - Young, Lot of potential, currently having a great season. But then again, he is still young. Rondo and Kobe might be a big help for him.

Young - Surely he will comeback stronger next season, would like to see this guy play the 2 spot.

S. Johnson - The Metta World Peace 2.0, defensive and hustle guy, knows his role, Can rebound and pass the ball well.

Randle - Another guy who will comeback next season, I love how he approaches the game. He's picking up kobe's mindset. Just watch his youtube highlights during summer league. He is a beast riding in a bulldozer.

Black - Power, Basketball IQ, Young, and Energy.

This is a well balanced team

REALISTIC AND ATTAINABLE

Projection: This roster can be a playoff team. 6 to 8 seed, not bad for a farewell season for the Black Mamba. Would love to see the Lakers in western semifinals with this kind of squad. That would be really nice!

Thoughts about my roster projection? Crazy or what? :D

PaulAmante

1.) Not crazy at all
great balance!

2.) While I would be happy if this was our team next year, it just isn't possible. There are 2 huge problems:

1. No team is going to trade us there lottery pick, to draft WCS, for Houston's #1 (which as of today is #28) plus Sacre. It just isn't happening.

2. The bigger issue is that The Lakers will only have 24 million dollars under the cap this summer (and this is only if they let Hill go). There is no way you can sign Rondo (14-16 mil), Middleton (10-12 mil), and Davis (6-10 mil) for that. And even Ellington will probably get more than the vets minimum next year based on this year.

3.) The cap should increase this summer quite a bit due to the TV deal.

Realistic 2015-2016 Lakers Roster Projection

PG: Jordan Clarkson - 6'5 - 193lbs - PG/SG
SG: Kobe Bryant - 6'6 - 200lbs - SG/PG/SF
SF: Stanley Johnson - 6'7.5 - 240lbs - SF/SG/PF
PF: Julius Randle - 6'9 - 250lbs - PF
C: Greg Monroe - 6'11 - 253lbs - C/PF

PG: Wayne Ellington - 6'4 - 200lbs - SG/PG
SG: Nicholas Aaron Young - 6'7 - 200lbs - SG/SF/PG
SF:Draft Pick 1st Round? Good shooter + Good Defense
PF: Edward Davis - 6'10 - 240lbs - PF/C
C: Tarik Bernard Black - 6'11 - 250lbs - C/PF

Reserves:
PG: Ronnie Price
SG: Jabari Brown
SF: Draft Pick 2nd Round?
PF: Ryan Kelly
C: Draft Pick 2nd Round

Thoughts? :)

PaulAmante

1.) Looks pretty solid, I just think if they retain their top 5 pick they'd go for a higher upside guy than Stanely although he's a strong option.

And with their cap flexibility I see them adding one more piece via Free agency but this would be a good start to the rebuild.

2.) I think its better to start ed davis ahead of julius randle because randle isn't ready to start yet and ed would add interior defense.

3.) To JdA: Maybe the Lakers can sign Kris Middleton. though he is a restricted fa, bucks already have Jabari and Giannis at the 3 spot. So there's a good chance his will just let him go. Middleton can fill in the starting 3 position and switch Stanley into a role player considering he can still develop by watching this starters. i'm not saying he's not going to earn minutes, with the abilities he have surely byron will find a way to play him. This move will also give the starters the 3point shooting they don't have, while the role players will be more tougher by adding stanley to them. Would be a great offseason to add Stanley Johnson, Kris Middleton and Greg Monroe. Definitely we'll have a shot for a playoff run with this lineup next season.

PG: Clarkson/Ellington
SG: Bryant/Young
SF: Middleton/S. Johnson
PF: Randle/Davis
C: Monroe/Black

R: Price, Brown, Draick, Kelly, Draick

Thoughts?

4.) Start ed davis so that there will be batter interior defense and randle isn't ready to start yet

5.) Llol I googled Nicholas aaron young!

6.) This is realistic. I'd resign Jeremy Lin

7.) I like it but i'd sign centers: Robin Lopez, Brook Lopez, Deandre or Gasol instead of pf: Monroe. Otherwise we may as well sing Kevin Love

8.) Standing 6 foot 11 I think Monroe is a Center, a versatile C who can also play the 4 spot. i'm just being realistic here, that we cannot sign Gasol and Deandre Jordan. Very little chance, 1% maybe. :D

My 2015-2016 Roster Projection for the Los Angeles Lakers

In case LA did not pick Russell
PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Draymond Green OR Tobias Harris
PF: Julius Randle
C: Karl Towns OR Jahlil Okafor

There's NO WAY the Lakers MGT will sign Kevin Love. Everybody LOVES and SEES a brighter and longer future with JR.

Mark my word guys this is going to happen. WHY?

If I truly want to play for the Lakers and Earn a lot and play for a future contender I can sign with a good setup.

For Green or Harris "Sign a 1 year deal" Just Like Howard did

"Sign a lesser amount of deal" because I want to play for the Lakers and i'm still young(just like green and Harris). let's test the waters here in LA. Maybe an 8M deal? and a player option?

"Wait for Kobe to Retire, 2016-2017 season" Prior to this season Green or Harris can sign a F*cking lucrative deal. "All yours Man" Only if they want to :) OR they just going to copycat mr. dwight howard :)

"Rondo will not find a bigger deal/contract anymore" 40M Back% 4yrs, End of discussion.

Im still in favor of signing Rondo as of now. We need a guy to guide the ship after kobe. Considering also that JC is only 23 of age. No wonder after 2 or 3 years Rondo will be coming from the bench, considering his age and production. I guess that's projectable.

"We need rondo" :) or else we're going to be like the 76ers, until now there's no man guiding their ship. good thing for milwaukee and jazz theyv started to figure out things. that's after a LONG time :)

I guess this is believable :)

PaulAmante

1.) I think a guy like ty lawson makes more sense: he's 2-3 years younger, they wouldn't have to overpay to get him, he'd blend better in the locker room and is a guy that works really hard. He is a very solid starting point guard/floor general and doesn't have a history of conflict with teammates and coaches.

2.) I'm praying to God we don't get dragic or rondo. Will be nearing mid 30's by the end of the contract. And in pretty sure Howard was traded for.

3.) 2015-2016

PG: Mudiay, clarkson
SG: Bryant, Ellington
SF: D.Green or Harris, Young
PF: Davis, Randle
C: Monroe/Gasol, Black

4.) I think La should draft Wilie Caulie Stein and sign Love, Harris. Resign lin.

5.) The Lakers could have
PG _ Rondo, Clarkson, Brown
SG _ Bryant, Ellington, V.Blue(D league)
SF _ Harris, Young, Johnson
PF _ Love, Davis, Randle
C _ Towns, Black, Sacre

Just want to post this to gather opinions. let's make discussions.

Lakers' Role Players(Bench) and Reserves for 2015-2016 NBA Season

PG:Wayne Ellington
SG:Nick Young
SF:Metta World Peace
PF: Ed Davis
C: Tarik Black

Ellington - Sharpshooter, can hustle, good defender, he can play the 1 spot. And Still Young (28) "Mr. All Around"

Young - Crafty offensive player, Sharpshooter, Iso guy, 6th man of the team, Already made a good rest this season and looking forward to pay his debts next season. with kobe resting he can play bigger minutes thru 2 and 3 spots. "Mr. Fancy Swaggy P"

Metta - This man is sick, he looks fresher right now in cantu. We need TRUE NBA experience and toughness. he's like benjamin button lol "The Rock"

Davis - No question, he is a solid backup for julius randle. Great Energy and Great Defense. Runs the floor very well. just need to work more on his offensive play(Low post moves and perimeter shot). Harworking rebounder. "Mr. Energy Guy"

Tarik Black - Cheap guy, Our Great Wall of Lakers, High Energy and runs the floor very well too. harworking rebounder. I think he can add more strength and weight based on his previous performances showing great athleticism. "The Bulldozer"

Flood me your thoughts! :)

I'd still go for Rondo next season considering his experience, championship mindset, and leadership. Clarkson will only be 23 nextseason he has a lot of time to learn from rondo. Clarkson can also play the 2 spot. So minutes will not be an issue. Also, next season might be the last season of kobe, if that's the case JC can grab the 2 spot position next to Rondo.

Would rather like to see Metta World Peace training Stanley Johnson at the number 3 spot. Sound great! right?

Clarkson starting as pg nextseason is believable. good length, athletic, decent playmaker and passer, good defender just need to add strength + confidence.

Bryant as the starting SG is a no question. Just have to monitor his minutes, 25-30mpg. (Duncan Structure)

Deng as the starting small forward, yes he is attainable. and much in a cheaper price. The question is are we or the mgt is willing to sign a 30yr old guy to play the starting position? Is that in line with their rebuilding strategy? WHAT IF. let's sign Luol Deng as our backup sf? moving Nick young to his comfort zone. The shooting guard position coming from the bench and still as our 6th man.

Anthony, brining anthony for the purple and gold would bring chaos. 2 things are just bout to happen if he comes. I mean EITHER, 1. he will not fit in with kobe, another dwight saga. OR 2. Anthony will just sit on the bench for the rest of the season dealing with injuries. I really question his durability nowadays just like our kobe.

Lopez, Another offensive minded guy. would that be nice to have 4 starters who are all offensive minded? I don't think so. I also question his durability especially his foot and back problems.

So for me, just for me. this is a no no trade brother.
