To prepare the best summer for lakers we need to be ready for 3 possibility:
1)We lost our pick
2)We got a top 3 pick
3)We got 1rst pick
We need to be ready for all posibility we can't just say Draft Ben Simmons and trade trade Ryan Kelly for Demarcus Cousin.

So:
1) if we loose our pick we need to:
Trade Clarkson and Lou Williams for Noel
Go for Durant and De Rozan on free agency and Whiteside if we fail Duran. Sign few FA with the monney remaining (like 15M) to complete the roster. Resign Bass, black and Hibbert for a year ( birds right if needed)

So we got:
Russell/Williams/Huertas
De Rozan/Young /Fa
Durant/Fa/Fa
Randle/Bass/Nance Jr
Noel/Hibbert/Black

2) We got a Top 3 pick:

Trade The pick and Clarkson for Demarcus Cousin
Go for Durant and De Rozan on free agency. I'm sure that it will be way more easy with DMC already on the roster. Same thing like 1) to complete the roster so we got:

Russell/Fa/Huertas
De Rozan/Young /Fa
Durant/Fa/Fa
Randle/Bass/Nance Jr
Cousins/Hibbert/Black

3)We got first pick:

Ben Simmons is probably the more exiting prospect since LBJ so we need to draft him, keep him and don't run For durant on free agency because he need to have space to grow

Take De Rozan and Whiteside on free agency, Keep Clarkson to make him the leader of second Unit, keep Bass Hibbert Black again. Trade Williams for cape space or a bench 3. Take some free agent to complete the roster
Russell/Clarkson/Huertas
De Rozan/Young /Fa
Simmons/Fa/Fa
Randle/Bass/Nance Jr
WhiteSide/Hibbert/Black

So I think we can be back next year as a realy big contender with all the 3 scenario but 2 and 3 are really easier because we will have more credibility in front of big FAs.
And yes Clarkson is a very good player but he got less potentiel than Russel because he is 4 years older and i'm pretty sure that Russell will be stronger in 1 or 2 year so trade Clarkson or switch him to the 6th man position could be a goot thing because I don't like when they are together on the floor they both need to have the ball on hand!

What makes you think Derozan and durant will just come to the lakers?

Good call we should go for Derozan and he would desire to play in LA where he's from but if we get Durant we have to trade Russell and randle for Westbrook because KD & RW are never playing apart! They becoming strongest one two punch ever! So J Noah is cool for middle or Whiteside, not Cousin. But for PF Jeff green, Lance may be even Pau on 8 mill x 2 years! Sf has to be Batum as the perfect baller to fit this squad and be Andre Iguodala type of glue player!
And Gary Noel as pack up for sharp 3 shooting! Hibbert could be back on discount no more then 4 a year and T.Black for sure on cheap!!
How about making a swing at Joe Johnson for 3 years 12 million since he made Kobe money and 35 now so should chase the ring with us! And as crazy as I sound all that is possible if we "Lakers" pitch it right! I even got a blue print how! But we'll see

Nickywest323 Getting KD and Westbrook is a bit delusional! I think its one or the other; OKC wouldn't just give the team away and their team is literally just KD and Westbrook.
