Trade before exception expires in December
Lakers trade Hibbert 2016 second round pick
Celtics trade rondo trade exception and less favorable of celtics mavs first round pick
Celtics only do this if Hibbert plays at the all star level he did in Indiana
Lakers get a first round pick in case they don't keep theirs

Have you thought about what the Lakers would do at center then? Lakers need defense and to go above the minimum salary cap number. Hibbert provides both. Mavs pick and Celtics trade exceptation are nothing. They can't just dump Hibbert for nothing. The Lakers must use the salary space which they have done with the Hibbert trade with Indiana. Also why can't we as Laker fans hope Hibbert plays as an allstar level player like he did for Indiana? We want that. Why have our hated rivals the Celtics reap the benefits of having Hibberts allstar level play potentially based on what your hoping.

why the hell would lakers just trade away their starting center for another 2nd round pick when they traded a 2nd pick for him. that was a steal!

Skittles25 - what he is saying is that the Celtics trade the Rondo trade exception. When the Mavs and Celtics made that Rondo trade last season the Celtics got a trade exception that they can use to get a player in a future trade without giving up a player. $12.9 million to be exact. So Rondo himself is not involved in the trade he is saying its the exception that the Celtics got.
